78°F and sunny today at Parrot Key.
It’s 73°F with partial clouds today at Parrot Key. 15 mph winds from the Southeast will kick up a little bit of chop on the ocean, but there is an upside to this: tuna have been spotted coming in close to the reefs and prefer medium wind and cloud cover. This is a rare opportunity for some great fishing.
Sunset tonight will be at 6:27 pm, festivities at Mallory Square will start around 4:30.
This weekend the Green Parrot bar is hosting a full schedule of performances. Tonight at 10:oo pm Big Sam’s Funky Nation will present their high energy funk/soul party music. Friday and Saturday central Florida’s best soul group, the Legendary J.C.’s, will perform at 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Sunday at 5:00 pm and 10:00 Key West’s own Bong Hits for Geezers will bring New Orleans flavored bar rock over from their usual haunt at B.O.’s Fish Wagon.
Right now at Parrot Key its 75°F and Sunny with a light 4 mph wind from the East. Today is a perfect day for the beach, getting out on the ocean, exploring downtown or having a drink by the pool. Another perfect day in paradise.
Warm weather has once again brought the tarpon back in force. Good catches have been reported all around Key West, with almost every boat getting hooked into large fish. Favorable tides, light winds and warm weather are predicted until Saturday, which means good fishing should continue all week.
Tomorrow night at the Tennessee Williams Cabaret Theatre the Johnny Rogers band returns to Key West for a performance of jazz, blues and other American musical styles. The band makes its highly anticipated return having just finished a tour of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands as music ambassadors for the Jazz at Lincoln Center and U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. Tickets are available here or at the door.
78°F and partially cloudy today at Parrot Key with a light 5mph Southeast wind. This is ideal snorkeling or beach weather, ocean conditions should be very calm. Taking advantage of the flat ocean conditions to go reef fishing is suggested on a day like this, especially because currents are predicted to be mild.
Today at Parrot Key it is 75°F and sunny with 10mph wind from the North. Fishing reports indicate a strong bite for tarpon and all species of mackerel, with a particularly large number of Kingfish caught recently.
Ever So Klever, 5:30 P.M. soundcheck and 10 P.M. show at the Green Parrot tonight. The first bar on US1 hosts this rockabilly/ska group for what should be a super up-tempo show. Go down and see it live, or check in on their webcam here.
Today is another gorgeous day in paradise. It is 75° and sunny, with a very light 9mph breeze from the north. This light wind from the north means clean beaches and very flat oceans, perfect for snorkeling, reef fishing or going to the beach. The full moon last night will have invigorated some fisheries near the reefs and wrecks, so despite grouper season being closed, good catches of mutton snapper, jacks and other species are expected.
