It’s 73°F with partial clouds today at Parrot Key. 15 mph winds from the Southeast will kick up a little bit of chop on the ocean, but there is an upside to this: tuna have been spotted coming in close to the reefs and prefer medium wind and cloud cover. This is a rare opportunity for some great fishing.

This weekend the Green Parrot bar is hosting a full schedule of performances. Tonight at 10:oo pm Big Sam’s Funky Nation will present their high energy funk/soul party music. Friday and Saturday central Florida’s best soul group, the Legendary J.C.’s, will perform at 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Sunday at 5:00 pm and 10:00 Key West’s own Bong Hits for Geezers will bring New Orleans flavored bar rock over from their usual haunt at B.O.’s Fish Wagon.
Warm weather has once again brought the tarpon back in force. Good catches have been reported all around Key West, with almost every boat getting hooked into large fish. Favorable tides, light winds and warm weather are predicted until Saturday, which means good fishing should continue all week.
Tomorrow night at the Tennessee Williams Cabaret Theatre the Johnny Rogers band returns to Key West for a performance of jazz, blues and other American musical styles. The band makes its highly anticipated return having just finished a tour of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands as music ambassadors for the Jazz at Lincoln Center and U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs.
